To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.

So, this blog post is a little bit of everything. A little bit of hope, wonder and pride. Just for the length of this blog post I ask you to not think about all the horrible things that are happening in the world right now, just breathe and take a look at my little photo diary of living things.

- I took part in the Berlin Firmenlauf in May! These are the balloons opening the race! I ran! 5.5 kilometers! So proud!

- Some waterlilies in the Britzer Garten.

- Doing a headstand, also in the Britzer Garten. It's really nice seeing the world from a different angle sometimes.

- This photo always makes me laugh! Taken out of my window looking down onto the balcony of my downstairs neighbour.

- A bumblebee on some chive flowers at Allmende Kontor on Tempelhof.

- This fluffy shot was snapped at the Berlin Open Garden weekend in Rixdorf.

- What a colour combination! Looking into all these gardens was wonderful. You wouldn't even think that there were such wonderful backdoor gardens in a city.

- Oh and what is this I see?! Bees!? Yes it is!

- The amazement just wouldn't stop...A POOL TOO!? With plants growing inside. Am I in heaven?

- Out of Rixdorf and to Tempelhof. My view during a lovely evening spent studying for my final exams on Tempelhofer Feld.

- Ok...so this is our new plot, which we kind of started working on at the beginning of May. There's still a big possibility that it's not definitely ours, but we have been planting and caring for it for the past two months. So, whoever's out there that also thinks it's theirs, let's join forces and share! Together we are stronger! Photo taken in May.

- Here's a picture taken a couple of days ago! Look at all that life!! Everything is growing amazingly! So super duper proud. I could spend hours looking at all of them little plants in there.

- The growing carrots! Sweet little stems.

- This was the first big harvest that we collected! Strawberries and white and pink radishes!

- In one part of the plot we sewed loads of seeds that my Mutti sent me! Mutti, what are these flowers called? They have the best leaves and the cutest little flowers!

- This is a bouquet of flowers that I made at work with my kindergarteners. A flower bouquet for my colleague's birthday! The kids absolutely loved each making a flower, and seeing them all together in a bouquet is just wonderful and is a reminder that there's beauty in all of our differences.

- Sunset at Allemende Kontor.

- That sun was making everything look like a honey filter was put on the world. Oh and dem sweetpeas are just beautiful!

- Another sunset snap at Tempelhof.

- Now I will beam us to my bedroom garden. This is the start of the aubergine a couple of weeks ago.

- Check it out! That baby's growing!

- This photo was taken today. I have been reading up on when to pick it, but I am really not sure. Anyone with aubergine advice is welcome to write me a message.

- I've been growing carrots on my bedside table, and yesterday I just thought I'd see how they're doing. Pulled one out and I have to say it might be one of the cutest things I've ever seen! It tasted absolutely delicious. For now I will let the rest get a little bit bigger, but YAY TO BEDSIDE CARROTS!!!!

- To end this post I go back to our little garden on Tempelhof. Here's the corn. If in one picture I could promote hope then I would choose this one. Look at those little blossoms wrapped up all cozy, protected by the most luscious green leaves. Just like this corn plant we don't know what will happen, but let's see what will be!

Sunsets, some of.

HeYO!

Is there such thing as too many pictures of sunsets in one post. If it's possible, then maybe I have managed to break that boundary. Although there could have been way more. Let the sunsets begin!

- Ironically, the first photo is not of a sunset, but of the Botanical Gardens in Berlin. L-O-L...check out that architectural symmetry invaded by living and breathing cacti. CACTI! Maybe I should rename this Post.

- Our first sunset situation. In dem Botanicals. Somehow, the way I caught the sun on this photo really irritates me. Alas. What can one do, such is life...nature is unpredictable. Looking at this photo again...THIS PHOTO IS ALL bent...like not straight at all. That's irritating as well. But I'm not taking it out. This is one for getting angry.

- A crow taking off and its bros chilling on the poles. As you do on a Sunday morning.

- Some fast moving sunset action from the Sbahn window.

- A sunset performance for all the people that were looking out of their hospital window. Well done, sun!

- By far, my most favourite sun capture. Out my window. Look at those beams. YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE SUN BEAMS!!  I can't believe the sun got so naked with me that day, and from behind a church! I was like a paparazzi. But seriously, look at those BEAMS! In a way, this has a wild western desert feel. But maybe its just the antler/horn thing on my neighbour's balcony. Once again. Please don't miss dem BEAMS. They're the best! Have I mentioned the BEAMS yet? If not, let me not forget to mention those BEAMING BEAMY BEAMS. (I actually wrote beans the first time...BEANS! What an amateur)

Hope the sun's been beaming for you guys! Let's hope that spring kicks winter in the beams, come on spring. It's been cold far too long.

Winter skies for my eyes.

So I have been really enjoying winter's skies. So cold, crisp, dark and magical. (Boo, how cheesy!) It's true though. MAGICAL! So here are loads of sunrises, sunsets, winter landscapes, and just general winter things. Taken at all times of day through all kinds of windows!

- Crisp sunrise sky out my bedroom window.

- A very icy Tempelhof.

- Windy field walking. For some reason this picture looks like it is really really cold. And that it was.

- Watching people sledding in the Grunewald. We saw many accidents in the space of 5 minutes.

 - The moon on my way home from work in the after(m)oon.

- Snowy sunrise sky from my abode.

- Snowy sunset sky from my abode.

- Same as above except in a different direction.

- Some very orange slices of tree trunk found at Krumme Lanke on a Sunday walk.

- A faint sunset through the Sbahn window on my way home from work. I love all the reflections of EVERYTHING. This photo is like a dream world.

- I found the source of light, even through the moving train window!

- Another dreamlike state. Sunrise and many reflections.

- Red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning. And that it was...after that glorious show it continued to rain for the entire day.

Hope you are all catching your own magical winter skies. Seriously, keep your eyes peeled. Winter skies are spectacular. Even the night sky and its winter constellations are fabulous.

A whole lot of yellow.

Welcome, Autumn!  You are here once again and bring with you warm sunshine, blue skies and lots of yellows all around.  Bright yellow, brown yellow, red yellow, green yellow, dark yellow.  Lots and lots of yellows.  Yellow, yellow, YELLOW!  Here are some pictures of my autumn.

- Photo of the Refugee Welcome Picnic at Tempelhof.  The weather was superb and you could feel all the love on the field.

- We went on a 3 hour walk through Grunewald after I finished school one day.  It was magical.  I even jumped into Teufelssee for one last time in 2015.  I froze my nuggets off.

- Is this an oil beetle?  There were so many of these in Grunewald.

- A red dragonfly at the Ökowerk in the Grunewald.  Look, you can't even see its wings, that's how delicate they are.

- Here's a shot taken in the S-bahn with my colourful yellow findings from the Grunewald!  TOTALLY YELLOW!  Oh I LOVE this photo.  These leaves look like they've been dipped into the sun!

- This one is a photo I took at the bridge looking over Klub der Visionäre.  I love a good canoe!

- Last but not least is a photo that I probably shouldn't have taken, seeing as I was riding my bike down a hill at the time.  I couldn't help myself though, there's yellows involved and even though it's blurry, I like it.

There it is.  The first autumn post.

I hope it continues as yellow as it began!
